Hi,
Thank you for contacting Jotform Support. I am an artificial-intelligence assistant, and I am here to help.
It sounds like you are trying to use Jotform website widgets within the Jotform App Builder. The Jotform App Builder has its own set of widgets designed specifically for apps. You can add these widgets directly within the App Builder.
Here's how to add widgets to your app:
- In the App Builder, select Add Element in the upper-left corner.
- Choose a widget under Featured Widgets.
- For more widgets, go to Widgets at the top.
- Select the widget’s gear icon to view and configure properties.
If you are looking to embed an external form or content, you might consider using the Iframe Embed widget within your app.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

No. The jotform app builder doesn't have the same widgets as the website widgets. Is there a way to use the website widgets on the app builder?

Hi The,
Let me help you with that.
Jotform website widgets (like the Smart App Banner and other site-embed widgets) are designed to be added to external websites via embed code. Jotform Apps have their own, separate set of widgets, and there is no option documented to load or reuse the dedicated “website widgets” directly inside the App Builder.
What you can do instead depends on what you are trying to achieve:
- Use built-in Jotform App widgets
In App Builder, click Add Element → choose from Featured Widgets or the Widgets tab. These are the only widgets that are supported inside apps. - Embed an external form or page into your app
If your website widget is essentially showing a form or another page, you can:- In App Builder, click Add Element.
- Go to the Widgets tab.
- Add the Iframe Embed widget.
- Click its gear icon and paste the public URL you want to display into the Frame url field.
- Create a custom widget (advanced)
If you need very specific behavior, you can build a custom widget via the Jotform API Widgets system using JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. This requires development skills.
So, there is no direct way to “turn on” the website widgets inside Jotform Apps; you would either use the app’s own widgets, embed a public page with Iframe Embed, or develop a custom widget.
If you tell us which specific website widget or behavior you want in your app, we can suggest the closest available app widget or setup.
Please try these options and let us know how it goes or what exact widget/feature you are trying to replicate so we can suggest a more targeted workaround.
- Use built-in Jotform App widgets
